How Does Disc Replication Work?

Disc replication is a process that creates multiple versions of data onto new discs. It can be used in cases where the original disc is damaged or lost. When you create a Disk Duplication, you are essentially creating a copy of your data. You then provide these replicated discs to your users.

When you want to create a new copy of a disc, the process of copying the data of the original disc onto a new disc is called replication. The process of replicating discs is divided into two main stages:

Pre-copy is responsible for ensuring that all the necessary data is gathered before starting to copy the data. This includes checking if there are any errors or issues on the original disc. Once everything looks good, the pre-copy stage starts copying the data from the original disc onto the target disk.

Copy is where all the magic happens! This stage is responsible for taking all this copied data and putting it together into an exact replica of what was originally on the source disk. Any errors that may have occurred during pre-copy are corrected during copy so that you end up with a perfect replica of your original disc.
